Imperial College Landon

Imperial College London is a public research university. The idea for a cultural hub comprising Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and multiple royal colleges was first conceived by Prince Albert, the consort of Queen Victoria.

By royal license, the Royal College of Science, the Royal School of Mines, and the City and Guilds of London Institute were merged to form Imperial College London in 1907.

Through a merger with St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, the Imperial College School of Medicine was established in 1988. The Imperial College Business School was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004.

Science, engineering, business, and medical are the main areas of study at Imperial College London. Research and teaching are mostly conducted on the main campus, which is located in South Kensington.

History Of Imperial College London

Established in 1845 with backing from Prince Albert and the legislature, the Royal College of Chemistry was the first college that served as a model for Imperial.

In With royal approval, the school changed its name to the Royal College of Science in 1890. Courses at the Central Institution of the City and Guilds of London Institute started in 1885 after the Prince of Wales established it as a technical education institution on Exhibition Road in 1884.
